Yunus Centre, Dhaka and Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) today have signed an MOU agreement for the establishment of a Yunus Social Business Centre (YSBC) at their campus in Noida,India.
This takes the overall count of YSBCs around the globe to 69, and becomes the 10th YSBC in India. Established in 1988, BIMTECH is postgraduate business school located in Greater Noida, an education hub in the National Capital Region of India.The institute is situated at the Knowledge Park, where there are more than 50 institutes working. BIMTECH envisions to incorporate modules of Social Business in all their MBA programmes and enroll students for Ph.D. /fellowship programme on subjects under the ambit of Social Business. The YSBC at BIMTECH aims to also promote the concept by holding workshops on social business with faculty members and students of other institutes.
The signing was conducted over video conferencing in the presence of Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. From BIMTECH side Dr H.Chaturvedi, Director BIMTECH, Dr Anupam Verma, Dy. Director, Dr A. Sahay, Dean (Research), Dr R.Thakur, Dean ( Development), Prof N.N.Sharma , Chairperson (Sustainability & CSR) and other honorable members of the institution were present. Ms Lamiya Morshed, ED of Yunus Centre and other colleagues from YC were also present.
